Pre Season Day at Ombersley February 17th 2010.
Thirty six girls entered the event and this was the largest entry field for several years. The event was held at Ombersley Golf Club for the third year running. We had planned to have a 9 hole Texas scramble in teams of Four, Chipping , Driving and Chipping competitions. However ,when it began to snow the girls completed a 5 hole Texas scramble and the putting competition. They played in mixed ability teams and they also completed a sports quiz . The lady members of Ombersley volunteer each year to accompany the groups around the course, join the girls for lunch and help them with the quiz. Their contribution to the success of the day is invaluable. After lunch we were able to distribute this years County Junior Girls Booklet and explain all the forth coming events for 2010. As usual the girls conducted themselves impeccably despite the cold and snow . The ladies of the County Junior Committe ran the day very effectively and we are indebted to Graham Glenister and all at Ombersley golf club who were so accommodating and helpful throughout the day.
